After the name is called
Somebody has to stand up and say a name, and an award pin is the thing they hand over while they say it. The winner wears it on a jacket or lanyard, and the honor stays with them after everyone leaves. Company leaders bring a matching set when the annual ceremony comes around. A school district keeps a pin for each title, plus extras for county winners and state winners, with the date on the front.
Die struck gives a formal award its traditional look, with the design cut into the metal. Cloisonné or soft enamel is the option when the piece needs color. As an extra, a dangler hangs the year beneath it.

Contest
awards
A judged contest gives the winner a pin when scoring ends, so they can take the result home. The winner fastens it to a jacket and brings it to the next contest.
Workplace
achievements
The employee who shipped a project receives an award pin at a department meeting. A manager presents it to recognize what they accomplished, and the recipient clips it to a lanyard and wears it for months afterward.
Team
leader pins
At a closing meeting, a supervisor pins the award on the team leader so everyone can see who led the work. The leader wears it on a lapel the following morning.

The same award often returns each year, so details of the pin matter as much as the handoff.
Award pins mark a title someone wins, from a company honor to a contest category. Award lapel pins sit on a coat or a uniform, where coworkers notice the win during a normal day.
Every award pin order starts at 100 pins. Several titles can go into a larger order, and the rep sets that up.
A winner’s pin and a nominee’s pin are two designs, each with its own mold and proof.
The mold stays on file for 3 years from the latest order, and each reorder restarts that window. A changed year on the face calls for a new mold.
A stamp behind the pin carries an organization mark or a short line of text. Sequential numbering puts a different number on each pin in the run. The face holds the award name while those extras remain on the underside.
Poly bags hold a large nominee set in a box backstage, and custom printed cards name the honor beside the pin. A velvet bag or an acrylic case fits a pin someone will open during the presentation.
Production usually takes 3½-4 weeks after you approve the proof, plus a few days in transit. A buyer with an event date should tell their rep that date up front. An added dangler takes longer to produce than the base pin.
