Step into the world of Warframe, a futuristic universe where warriors clash - and where players engage with a unique community full of rich stories and unique collectibles.
The game has been growing its player base for more than a decade. Originally launched in 2013, players still find the free-to-play, online multiplayer gameplay engaging and exciting! Story-specific missions add more context to the world, allowing players to explore and learn more about the ancient warrior race that serves as the game’s central focus and new content continues to flow from the developers.
With such a dedicated fan base, it made sense for the developers to create a series of real world collectibles pins that celebrate the games community and rich history. That’s where we come in!
The video game world is full of special events and competitions that celebrate gaming history, provide a space for competition, and offer fans a chance to connect with the developers of their favorite games. For the Warframe developers, designing custom pins was an excellent way to connect with fans by offering them a physical product that they could collect and wear with pride.
The first two sets of pins we created for the Warframe team were designed for TennoCon, a yearly event for fans to get together, celebrate the game, and meet with the game’s developers. The name “Tenno” refers to the ancient warrior race that players control in the game. The first pin design features one of the Tenno beside a stylized “7,” in reference to the game’s seven-year anniversary.
We also worked with the Warframe team to create official 2020 TennoCon celebration pins. The bold look of the black enamel and gold metal plating create an eye catching effect. Each pin also came with custom cardstock with the Warframe branding designed to frame the artwork.
TennoCon is going strong to this day, and the focus each year is on camaraderie and celebrating the amazing community of players and developers that keep the game alive. The in-person event has cosplay contests and photo opportunities, meet and greets with developers, and tons of collectibles like these video game pins. And for those who can’t attend in person, the Warframe team livestreams all the events on Twitch, YouTube, and Steam.
When it comes to video game pins and collectibles, there’s no limit to what’s possible. Developers, designers, and fans are always excited to collect physical mementos of their favorite franchises. It’s a way to connect with fans and give them something to display with pride.
