Deep in Hunterdon County, NJ, there’s a small team of ballooning enthusiasts who’ve been offering private tours since 1987. While it’s a small operation, thousands of passengers have taken to the skies over the years and been able to drink in all the best views New Jersey has to offer: rolling hills, farms, and the beautiful historic districts of the state’s Northwestern region.

We’ve had the pleasure of helping the team at Balloons in Flight Over New Jersey make several amazing pins and patches, but their most impactful offerings have to be their Dragon Balloon designs. They’ve created several versions of the Dragon Balloon pins, all of which show the iconic silhouette of a hot air balloon in flight with huge dragon wings on each side.
The 3D pins come in antique gold, antique silver, and black metal. There are also smaller versions with an oval shape for pin collectors who want something a little more subtle. The patches are much more colorful, showing off the red dragon wings, blue sky, and lush landscape. For passengers, pins and patches like these are fun souvenirs to help them remember their time up in the air! But sometimes, they do more than just celebrate a successful flight.
These Dragon Balloon pins surrounded by a wreath of flame - dubbed Tricia’s flame - were designed to raise money for cancer research. They were unveiled aboard a countryside flight during the most picturesque days of winter. The Balloons flew up 3,000 feet before sunrise, chasing the sun as it peaked over the horizon. Donations from passengers and participants on the flight were given to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and everyone returned to Earth with a special fire wreath Dragon Balloon pin as a token of their adventure.
