Why schools order pins
Offices reorder every grading period: the honor roll, the principal’s list, perfect attendance pins, and school award pins for students. A club can also add its animal or the team’s emblem beside the new dates. Class pins go home with seniors. Districts mark years of service for teachers. A certificate is just paper, and a ribbon fades over time. On a backpack or a lanyard, the pin stays long after the year ends.
Soft enamel fills color into recesses below raised metal lines. This carries school colors well and gives the face a textured feel. One design can come in a different color for each honor tier within a single order, and the mold is kept on file for the next term’s reorder. As the most durable style, cloisonné fills color to the top of the metal lines and polishes to a smooth, glassy face. Die struck pins are all metal with no color, and an antique finish highlights the detail.

Club and
Team Pins
A robotics club or soccer team asks for the school name and this year’s dates above the emblem. On a jacket, members keep that pin for the season. At the last home match, the booster group sets extras out so families can take some home.
Colors for
Each Tier
Each honor level gets its own color, so students and families see the tier at a glance. The school reorders that set each term.
Pins on
the Gown
On the gown, the class year and the school colors show during the walk across the stage. Seniors clip it there for the ceremony. Afterward, many keep it with the tassel.

We've got answers
Schools ask about quantity, colors, moving parts, payment, timing, and service years.
They are metal pins that schools give students for an honor list, perfect attendance, a school award, or graduation. People also call them school lapel pins. Worn on the collar, each pin stays with the student after the term ends.
The minimum is 100 pins. Larger quantities bring the price per pin down. You can split a design across colors or finishes inside one order.
Each list gets its own color in the same order. That mold is saved for another term.
Spinners and sliders are the parts that move. Buyers often ask for a star with the school year on a part that spins. These moving pieces need more time than the standard schedule.
Districts order service pins from 5 to 30 years. School bus drivers can order their own set. Those orders belong with our employee recognition pins.
Public schools can pay with a purchase order. Private schools pay by credit card, check or wire transfer. A tax-exempt school can add its exemption certificate to its account.
Production takes 3½-4 weeks after the proof is approved, plus a few days in transit. A buyer with an event date should tell their rep the date up front.
