What kids bring home
At a summer tournament, the trading starts as soon as the games do. Players head out between innings with baseball trading pins on a towel or a hat, and they swap one of theirs for one from each team they meet. A travel team that makes it to a world series tournament packs world series trading pins for the kids they will meet between games. By the end of the week that towel is covered with pins from across the country, and it stays on a bedroom wall for years. For a lot of kids, the trading is the part of the trip they talk about most.
Most designs put the mascot or the logo large in the center, with the team name, the year, the event or the age group around it. A home plate, a diamond, crossed bats or a ball can shape the pin, and we usually use soft enamel for the color. Color fills the areas between raised metal lines, so the pin has a textured feel. It holds up to a tournament’s worth of trading, gets dropped in the dirt and pinned and unpinned all week, and still looks good on the wall for years after. Whatever idea you bring us, we work with you to make the design work for the team. That gives the kids a pin they are glad to trade.
Add-ons kids ask for
Add-ons are optional extras that make trading pins more sought after, if the team wants its pin to make an impact when kids line up to trade. A dangler charm is a good spot for the tournament year, so the kids from another squad can read the year when they stop for the pin.
Glitter, glow-in-the-dark color, and translucent color change how a trading pin looks up close. Add-ons add to the price, and your rep can help match those finishes to the team's design.

On a towel full of pins, size is the biggest upgrade a team can make, and the real way its pins stand out. Trading pins run from one and a half to three inches. A pin near the top of that range is the one kids notice while they walk the row and choose.
How many and when
For a season, many teams order dozens of pins for each player, enough to trade at every stop and still have some left. Place that order before the first tournament, so one set of team trading pins lasts the year. For a single tournament, look at how many teams sit in your age group and how many players are on your roster. Order enough that each of your players can trade with each of those teams, then add a few extra. A player who joins the roster late should have pins too.
After you approve the proof, production takes 3½-4 weeks, often sooner, and a US shipment takes a few days on top of that. Shipping is free to US addresses. A simple design finishes toward the short end of that range. A large design with several add-ons needs longer. If you already have a tournament date, tell us at the start, even if the artwork is still a logo and a note, so we can match the route to the calendar.
The delivery options page compares the standard route and the rush route. When the tournament is close, we print USA rush trading pins in full color at our own shop and ship them fast. More elaborate designs, custom-shaped pins, and add-ons are only available on our standard pins.

Summer
baseball trades
Players bring their pins to a summer baseball tournament and trade them with other teams between games. The collection they build comes home with them, and families hold on to it long after the trip.
Softball
season pins
A softball team orders softball trading pins once and uses that set at each tournament on the schedule. Players trade through the year, and the pins that remain become a keepsake of that roster.
Pins families
wear
Players and their families wear the mascot pin at games, so the whole group shows the same mascot. Players can still trade the pin, and the ones that stay with the family carry the year that player was on the team.

These are the questions team parents ask us most.
A trading pin is a team’s own pin that players exchange with opposing teams during a tournament. The tradition lives mainly in youth baseball and softball, and trading also shows up at hockey, soccer, cheer events and problem-solving competitions. Players trade through the event and leave with pins from the teams they met.
Send your logo or a short note about the team, and our designers draw the pin for you. You can request changes until it looks right, and we send a proof for you to review. We make the pins only after that approval. Most trading pins are soft enamel, so you can feel metal around the color.
For a season, many teams get each player a few dozen pins, which covers the tournaments on your schedule. For one tournament, think about one trade per player for every other team in the age group, plus extras for a teammate added after you order. Your rep can walk through the count with you.
Trading pins run from one and a half to three inches, larger than a lapel pin, so other kids can pick them out during trades. Choosing a larger size is the top way to make a pin stand out while those trades are happening.
Glitter, glow-in-the-dark color, and translucent color over textured metal are the finishes a trading pin can take. Movement can come from a dangler, a slider, a spinner, a blinker, or a bobble, and a dangler’s charm is a good spot for the tournament year. Each add-on adds to the price of the pin.
The minimum order is 100 pins. One team can meet that number on its own, and a league ordering pins for every team starts from the same place. Ask in the quote request if you are weighing a season quantity against a single tournament.
Production takes 3½-4 weeks from proof approval, often sooner, plus a few days in transit to a United States address. A pin with moving add-ons, such as a spinner, needs longer than that. When the date is too close, rush pins usually arrive much sooner, and more elaborate designs, custom shapes, and add-ons are only available on standard pins.
