More traditional pin types like soft enamel and cloissone pins have raised metal areas separate colored regions. This is not permissible for some brands. Silk screen colors can be put right next to each other without the need for a metal border.

How Our Process Works

Step 1

Send Us Your Ideas

The first step to getting custom coins is simply send us your idea. It can be a sketch, photo, or logos in AI, EPS, or PDF formats.

Step 2

Receive Your Custom Proof (& Request Revisions if Needed)

After you give us your design idea, we will then create a proof and we work with you until we get your approval.

Step 3

Approve & Production Begins

Your approved artwork will be sent to our custom lapel pin production line where we will machine a custom lapel pin mold to begin the production process! The complete process usually takes 10-14 days

Step 4

Your Order Gets Shipped

Once your lapel pins are completed and pass quality-control, they are packed and shipped! We ship free via UPS Next Day Air to U.S. addresses because no one likes to wait, especially for custom pins.

How Are Silkscreen Printed Lapel Pins Created?

The process of creating custom silk screen lapel pins is almost identical to that of silk screening t-shirts. A base color is identified and put on the surface of the pins. Then, one at a time, each color is pressed through a screen with the help of a squeegee and allowed to dry. When all colors has been applied, a protective coating seals the design and protects it from scratching and fading.

If this sounds like a lot of work, it is! A new screen has to be made for every color featured ($19.00 each). That said, silkscreens are popular for changing years of service numbers because it's silk screen setups are less work (and expensive) than making a new mold ($55.00) for each year or milestone.
